Artist's Description

I always look forward to a stop in Fort Bragg as I travel the coast of California. I'm sure to get many photographs for paintings. Fort Bragg is nearly 200 miles north of San Francisco. Located on the Noyo River, this is more properly referred to as Noyo Harbor. With the reflections of its steep banks, the water is always emerald green. This provides dramatic contrast to the many commercial fishing boats and gulls in flight.

Bill Hudson

Bill Hudson comes from a family of watermen who worked the Chesapeake and Chincoteague Bays in Virginia. His inherited love of the sea is evident in his watercolors. Having an aptitude for art as well as science and mathematics, Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He then pursued a 38-year career in aerospace while painting with oils and watercolors as a hobby. His proudest moments came, however, when he married his wife Ellie and they were blessed with eight children. Now retired and with the children grown, Bill is enjoying a second career as a maritime artist. �For me there has always been that attraction to the shore. It is a world different from the...
