My sister Kathy is an avid bird watcher. On one of my visits, she took me to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge which is near Cape Canaveral. It is the migratory home to thousands of birds. This is a drake in breeding plumage with its white facial crescent and gray-blue head. These ducks are small and swift. Hundreds can be seen together in flight circling the marsh below.
About Bill Hudson
Bill Hudson comes from a family of watermen who worked the Chesapeake and Chincoteague Bays in Virginia. His inherited love of the sea is evident in his watercolors. Having an aptitude for art as well as science and mathematics, Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia. He then pursued a 38-year career in aerospace while painting with oils and watercolors as a hobby. His proudest moments came, however, when he married his wife Ellie and they were blessed with eight children.
